TV-Director, Musician, Producer

I Studied classical piano at the Amsterdam Conservatory and composition/arranging jazzmusic at Amsterdam and Rotterdam conservatory and at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

I wrote compositions and arrangements for TV- and Radio orchestras like The Metropole Orchestra, The Skymasters, The Promenade Orchestra en more. Also special compositions for symphony orchestras and music for TV programs, documentaires and film.

For the Dutch National Broadcast Cooperation I worked as recording producer and editor in chief. I have been playing as pianist and was orchestra leader in theatre- and TV-shows of many Dutch artists.

I produced many CD recordings among others the Edison winning recordings with Yuri Honing, Fay Claassen, The New Cool Collective, The Cubop City Big Band, The Dutch jazz Orchestra, Nueva Manteca and more.

Last years I am mainly active as TV director. I directed live TV broadcasts of:

The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra under Daniele Gatti, Mariss Jansons, Andris Nelsons,  (AVROTROS, Unitel, ARD/ZDF, MEZZO and more), Wiener Philharmoniker under Gustavo Dudamel, Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Metha, Frans Welser-Möst, (Musikverein, Vienna for ORF), Opera’s in Vienna (Ring des Nibelungen – Theater an der Wien), Volksoper in Graz and Vienna and the Netherlands. Luxembourg Philharmonique (Unitel Classica), Dianne Reeves (Jazz award recordings), Anne-Sophie Mutter, Buena Vista Social Club, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Yuja Wang, Thomas Hampson, Jazzorchestra of the Concertgebouw, Fay Claassen, Martha Argerich,  Opera South (first 3D opera recording in the Netherlands) and more.

I am a former member of the Dutch Council for Culture (Raad voor Cultuur) and instigator and boardmember of the Dutch Jazz competitione and the EBU/ European Jazz Competition.
